Sticky Alternatives

3MI hadn’t noticed it before but 3M is promoting the photo-safety of their adhesive  products. According to the boxes, permanent double sided tape and Magic Tape comply with ISO 18916. ISO 18916 is the Photographic Activity Test designed to ensure that materials do not react with photos.  I am glad to learn this fact and am planning to use 3M’s 665 Permanent Double Sided Tape in place of Creative Memories’ discontinued Photo Tape.

Photo-safe products are also available from 3L. Their products comply with another ISO standard, ISO 18932, which indicates that their adhesives are permanent and safe for photos. Look for their ISO 18932 Approved label on their adhesives.

Thank you, Mark. Isn’t 3L the company that made the tape runner and adhesives for Creative Memories?

  4. It is good to know and glad you are on the outlook. thank you for that! As for me, I have plenty of CM refills to carry me over to what they will be using once they reorganize. Nice to know there are alternatives just in case!
