Panstoria Artisan Replaces CM StoryBook Creator

Artisan

Panstoria is the successor to Creative Memories digital product line. In this role, Panstoria continues to support StoryBook Creator, although it is now renamed Artisan. If you haven’t updated to Artisan, you may want to consider making the change.

Artisan has one feature that is lacking from most competing programs. It allows pages and projects to be saved in standard JPG and PDF formats. Standard file formats allow me to use my page any way that I want, including sharing online and ordering products from any supplier. Standard file formats also ensure that I will always have a digital copy of my pages for future projects, even if Artisan no longer exists.

Even though it is possible to order merchandise from other vendors I find it easier to take the default path and order directly from Panstoria. I have also found that Panstoria listens to my concerns and is actively trying to improve their products.

Recently, I was asked by Panstoria to take a systematic look at their products and suggest possible enhancements that would help them grow their business. This opportunity allows me to directly influence Panstoria’s product line, and I am glad Panstoria values my input. I am looking forward to their future success, and I am also looking forward to continuing this blog. Stay tuned for future updates.

That is good news. I love the easy ordering.

  2. Lynda says:

Did you influence them to offer up to a 99 page lay-flat scrapbook? This was the best news that I had had in a long time.

I have used Panstoria to date for calendars and playing cards and was totally satisfied. I am thankful that they picked up the slack when CM abandoned us. Yes, we all have the right to give our business to anyone we want but until Panstoria proves me wrong and is unwilling to correct any errors I plan on continuing to us them!
    Nice blog, Mark

    AGAIN, Thank you Dr. Mark!!!!

Panstoria has really gone above and beyond to allow all of the thousands of CM StoryBook Creator users to continue to use all of the content that we’d purchased from Creative Memories. I believed that SB was the best software out there for digital use & I continue to believe that with Artisan. Printing to Panstoria Print Shop is so easy, with great results and competitive pricing. I’m sticking with Panstoria & I’m happy they’re now in charge.

What I desperately need Panstoria to bring back is the 12 x 12 Leather Premium Window Cover album…….which is layflat and goes to 99 or 100 pages.

  7. Lisa H says:

I understand that limiting people to order books only through Panstoria is good for book sales, but I have lots of clients who use Artisan for way more than books (ex: yearbook ads, flyers, mailers, etc.) I even have a client whose daughter uses it to create school projects. The fact that users can save projects as .PDFs and .JPGs is one of the primary ways I sell the program. I come from a graphic arts education, so I am comfortable in Adobe, but the fact is that most people are not….so they need a simple program. I will be devastated if that feature is removed.

I miss the photo panel(I think that’s the name). It was 12×12 or 8×8…like on a block of wood. I think Panstoria has metal. I made clocks with the other type…great gifts.

    Hi, Mark,

I am very happy to hear this news! You are such a great asset to the “preservation” cult(ure) and I too am so grateful to Panstoria for bailing us out! To each his/her own, but I for one do NOT want to have to be tethered to the internet to make my books, nor can I imagine any organization/editing system that would be any better and simple than Memory Manager/Historian. Thank you again!

I just recently learned I can’t move my MMgr & SBk to my new Mac with Windows side! I had NO idea it had to be done by 12-31-13… I just want to get rid of the crappy Vista PC I have but now I’m kinda stuck. I DID purchase the Artisan software but haven’t had to nerve to install on my Windows side of my Mac. It scares the crap out of me! I need a babysitter to hold my hand as I do all this! Any volunteers? Dr Mark? I’d pay you too!
    REALLY!
