Today is the day. Here is the All About Images plan for the future.

I started the All About Images blog in 2008 while I was at Creative Memories, as an outgrowth of my interest in photography and digital imaging. I still have these interests, even though I am no longer with Creative Memories. In addition, I like to write and do not otherwise have the opportunity.

I combine humor and serious articles. The humorous articles typically have a basis in fact. I use the satire tag for articles intended to be humorous. Even so, some people will take my humorous postings seriously. There is nothing I can do about it.

The name of the All About Images blog will not be changing. If it’s not broken don’t fix it. Eventually, I may migrate this blog to its own domain name, but the name of the blog will not be changing.

The basics problem with the current All About Images blog is that it lacks money. I have no way to try out new technology or obtain photo products to write about.

For this reason, All About Images will begin accepting contributions to help defray the cost of operation, starting later this year. These contributions will also allow All About Images to be ad-free.

I will continue to post three to four entries a week, with the same random schedule I have used in the past.

The goal of All About Images is to provide photographic information to the widest possible audience.  Consequently, contributions will be voluntary. I don’t want to create a “pay wall” that limits access.

Given these considerations, I will be implementing the following Commenter Career Plan:

Commenter: Anybody can be a commenter, and there are no minimum purchase requirements.

Senior Commenter: Requires an annual contribution of $30/year. The Senior Commenter is expected to submit 3 comments per year, although I have no way of enforcing it.

Director Commenter: Requires an annual contribution of $60/year. The Director Commenter is expected to submit 6 comments per year.

Executive Commenter: Requires an annual contribution  of $120/year. The Executive Commenter is expected to submit 12 comments per year.

Expect lots of recognition. Senior, Director, and Executive Commenters will be acknowledged on the Commenter Contributors page on this blog. They will also receive by email a certificate suitable for framing that acknowledges their Commenter contributions.

Look for more updates and the launch of the new Commenter contribution system in November.
