Orwell’s 1984 has arrived, and I’m not sure I like it. Intellicheck Mobilisa has come out with a new system for checking IDs. This system verifies the information hidden in driver’s licenses and other IDs, using a portable reader to link your ID to all the details contained in its databases. In doing so, it will probably stop most fake IDs, although it also raises serious questions about the amount of information that people can easily access about you. In addition, incorrect information will inevitably seep into this database, further compromising its integrity.
